Are You Missing Out on Money That You Have Forgotten?
Did you know that almost $33 billion dollars is being held by state treasuries and other agencies in the U.S.? In New York State alone the amount that is currently unclaimed is $10.5 billion dollars. Unclaimed property can be bank accounts, stock certificates, bonds, safe deposit boxes, travelers checks, refunds, and insurance policies. I found out from a search that I had a few dollars in an old bank account that I had forgotten about several years ago. Two friends of mine also had money waiting for them as well.
